You are bidding on a Ovation 1578-4 Bear Claw Acoustic Electric Guitar offered for sale by Oklahoma Vintage Guitar. This one is brand new and absolutely spotless.

The action is low and fast and plays so easily and is easy on your fingers. This bass response gives a super great sound from the newly designed body. The highs are pristine and the mids are very well balanced.

This one is equipped with a great new OP Pro electronics system that lets you have a clean amplified accurate acoustic sound when plugged in. The new Op-Pro Preamp is voiced to give you arena-sized sound with a minimum of eq gymnastics. Every improvement comes directly from the needs of pro players and sound engineers. It also has the best tuner onboard that is available today. The Ovation Pickup System has Six separate elements to sense both string and top vibration, giving you a better string-to-string balance, no matter what string type or gauge you use.

This new Ovation 1578-4-DLX Guitar is new and spotless and has the Ovation Lifetime Factory Warranty from Ovation USA. This model is Designed, Assembled and Fully Set up in the Good Old USA which gives it the quality that you want in an Ovation guitar. Although Ovation, like most other companies, (Most of the Trees used to make guitars are not grown in the USA) has a few of the parts made offshore but the assembly and set up is where the quality control happens and is what makes these guitars so awesome. The fine folks in Connecticut have really done a bang-up job on these and they are a great guitar at a great price. Since this has been our best selling most satisfying Ovation model in the history of our store, which is often the largest independent authorized dealer for Ovation guitars, I did some detailed research on this guitar to find out just exactly where and how it was built. The Mahogany Trees for the solid Mahogany neck were grown in South America. Any spruce on the guitar was grown and milled in Canada. The lyracord body was made in America, Connecticut to be exact. The neck is a Balladeer neck with the USA Black Face headstock and gold logo with Natural Mahogany Crown on the end. (Remember, not all Balladeer necks had the maple stripes) The electronics, are the OP Pro which are used on all USA guitars in the last couple of years. These parts were all then assembled in Connecticut. I was told that the most time consuming work on the guitar was the gorgeous abalone inlay which is hand inlaid piece by piece in Korea. Ovation has this done in Korea to keep the cost down on this one. Otherwise, it would retail for $2500 and up like the ones that have the inlay done in Connecticut. However, the abalone inlay work on these guitars is absolutely stunning. The abalone top purfling and top finish take over three quarters of the time required to build the guitar. This is the reason Korea is mentioned on the label, because when over 2/3 of the time to build is in a country the law says that country has to be named. So, yes, Korea is mentioned on the label and rightly so, but only for the top purfling and finish. Made in USA is not stamped on the Headstock, but the label does tell the story correctly when it says "Designed in USA..(Top Inlay)Made in Korea, Final Assembly and Quality Inspection in New Hartford CN USA." All the final assembly, finish and set up is done in Connecticut which assures that it has all the quality of the USA Ovations. This is as specific as I can get. You tell me where it was made? It has a price like an import with all the great USA Made parts and appointments. If you need an Ovation with Made in USA stamped on the Headstock, we have hundreds of them. They start at approximately twice the price of this guitar and have exactly the same neck, back, electronics and everything except this one has that gorgeous abalone top purfling that our brothers and sisters in Korea put on it.

A Word About the Ovation Guitar Company:
In 1966, aeronautical pioneer Charlie Kaman did what few have ever succeeded in doing - he revolutionized the acoustic guitar. Ovation guitars arrived on the scene with their round backs and new ideas. Professional musicians hailed the guitar's performance and purists shook their heads. With the talent and input of such artists as Glen Campbell Ovation and Mr Kaman went on to as much as invent the Acoustic Electric Guitar. From the first day forward the Ovation Guitar Company has been on the cutting edge of Guitar development. They have progressed not just in better woodworking as most companies do, but in better technology in other materials to save the forests and high tech acoustic electric technology also. The home of the company in New Hartford Connecticut is, at the same time, an interesting historic show place and a scientific research laboratory while producing some of the finest instruments known to man. Ovation is by far our most consistent selling line of guitars worldwide.
A Word About the Tonewoods In This Guitar
Sitka Spruce has become an industry standard for high quality tonewoods. It is a very versatile top that works well for all styles of playing. Presently abundant makes it under appreciated, but it is one of the all time best tonewoods. The color is fairly light when new and becomes golden over time. A Pacific Northwest wood.
